KIDS LINE is the central telephone number when making a referral to any of the agencies involved in the System of Care.
What happens when you call KIDS LINE?
When a call is placed to KIDS LINE, a Public Health Nurse will answer the call, discuss any concerns and make a referral to the appropriate agency.
A home visit may also be offered
Children in liscensed child care will be directed to call their child care centre.
Families will be oriented to the Community Assessment Team if required.
What is the Community Assessment Team (CAT)?
The CAT is a team approach to service planning. The team works together and a service coordinator is appointed. The family can choose how many professionals are involved in the assessment. Children recieve one assessment at one location. The CATwill develop a service plan that meets the child's needs.
